Avoid These Mistakes When Writing A Headline

A good headline is the best way to grab attention, attract more clients, and stand out from the crowd.

It’s like seeing Shaq stand next to a bunch of short people.

Here’s the problem.

Most headlines are completely awful. They’re boring. They don’t resonate with their audience. And they can’t seem to make their reader go “huh this sounds interesting”.

That’s why in this article, I will show you how to craft headlines that make you stand out from the crowd instead of putting your readers to sleep.

So let’s get into it.

Sell More Using Active Language

The first and most common mistake most people make when writing headlines is that they use passive language.

Your headline is supposed to motivate your readers in taking action and using passive language isn’t going to cut it.

For example, I’ll start by giving you two headlines and tell me which one would make you more motivated to take action.

“Ways To Save Money”

Or this one:

“Start Saving Money Today Using These Easy Tricks”

Obviously the second one.

But do you know what the second one does that the first one fails to do?

It uses active language to motivate and inspire the reader to take action.

Thus making your headlines more engaging and less sleep inducing.

Always Provide Value

Another mistake in headlines is failing to deliver on their promise, not offering enough value while misleading the reader.

For example, imagine a headline that reads “ The Shocking Secrets To Making Money.” You then click on it, only to find out that there’s nothing shocking about it at all.

Sure, you might get clicks, but at the end of the day, the reader will leave disappointed because you failed to properly deliver and you end up losing their trust all together.

That’s why it’s important to always deliver in your headlines and provide value to the reader.

Motivate The Reader

So at the end of the day let’s use words that make the reader interested in our headlines while motivating them to take action.

Make sure to always deliver in your headline, and come across as someone who’s trustworthy rather than misleading.

Avoid these headline mistakes and see your headlines attract more clients.

Much more on the way,

Jose
